Traditional Market Town

Fakenham is the largest town in North Norfolk, a traditional working market town. Well known for its popular markets, dating back to 1250, previously known for its trading of corn, barley and wheat, in the 19th century it became a hub for the printing industry. Today printing blocks can be found set into the surface of the market place and is represented on the town’s sign. The market traditionally runs every Thursday where traders showcase a wonderful example of the local produce on offer.

Fakenham is known locally as the “gateway to North Norfolk” being well positioned for those looking to enjoy all Norfolk has to offer from the countryside, the coat, the city of Norwich and it’s within easy driving distance of many of the county’s favourite spots.
